Charlotte, N.C. (September 28, 2016) - For years, Myrtle Beach Speedway played host to the NASCAR Xfinity Series and names like Gordon, Earnhardt and Petty cut their teeth racing on the .538 mile race track. Now the CARS Racing Tour took to the historic facility which would also be the first visit for Dalton Sargeant and the No. 55 Windows 10 Bond Suss Racing Toyota team as the track's tricky surface is tough to get grip throughout the 100-lap event. Sargeant would qualify in the 4th position but the name of the game was tire conservation as Sargeant dropped back as far as 23rd position to slow his lap times to save tires. Halfway through the event the No. 55 was given the signal to start coming up through the field and the Windows 10 Toyota Camry began its march from 23rd all the way to the top 5 in the closing laps. After a late-race restart Sargeant was able to make his way to 3rd position but ran out of time to contend for the win.
"This was a really odd race with the tire conservation, the track is so abrasive that we really can't race like we normally do. It was certainly the first time for our goal to get back to last position and ride and conserve, but it was fun coming through the field and racing everyone. We had a really fast car all weekend, handled really well and had speed but just came up a little short in the race with our strategy. Good run for our first time to Myrtle Beach Speedway."
