Charlotte, NC - (August  12, 2015) 17-year-old NASCAR Next driver, Dalton Sargeant will make his first top-tier NASCAR touring series debut with Wauters Motorsports at Bristol Motor Speedway, Wednesday, August 19, 2015 in the UNOH 200 Presented by ZLOOP.  Sargeant, who currently sits in the fourth position in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East championship standings, will pilot the No. 5 GALT NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Toyota Tundra.

The Boca Raton, Fl high school senior already has a vast amount of racing experience all around the world.  In 2015, Sargeant has been competing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series with several Super Late Model and Late Model starts all around the country.  Sargeant has one win, two pole position starts and an astonishing eight top-three finishes in his NASCAR K&N Pro Series rookie season.

2015 being only his second full season in stock car and oval competition, Sargeant has also picked up several wins in Super Late Model and Late Model competition all across the United States including a second-place finish in the 2014 Snowball Derby.

Born and raised in South Florida, Sargeant began his racing career in 2007 at the age of nine years old. Sargeant’s career has already taken him around the world and has competed and visited victory lane in numerous different racing disciplines. From professional karting championships, to European Formula open-wheel cars, Sargeant has a long list of accomplishments in a short amount of time.  He has represented the United States in International Rotax Karting Championships and competed at internationally historic courses such as Brands Hatch, The Mugello Circuit, and Sebring International Raceway.

“To say I’m excited to make the next step in my racing career is a big understatement, especially when you have veteran leadership behind you with Richie Wauters and great equipment from Toyota Racing Development.  This is something our great partners at GALT and Wauters Motorsports have been working on for a long time so it’s great to see it come to fruition, and hopefully we’ll have more events to announce in the future,” Dalton Sargeant explained.  “Richie Wauters is one of the most successful crew chiefs in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series history so it’s an honor to join the long list of his previous drivers.  I’m really looking forward to being under the tutelage of Richie Wauters and legendary driver Bobby Gill who will be our Truck Chief at Bristol Motor Speedway, a track that both Wauters and Gill have enjoyed a lot of success before and been to victory lane multiple times.  It will definitely be a big learning curve; it’s not only my first truck series start but only my second time to Bristol Motor Speedway, arguably one of the toughest short tracks in the country.  My primary goal is to gain experience, run as many laps as possible, get comfortable and try to compete with some of the best up and coming and veteran talent in NASCAR.”

Richie Wauters will be making his return to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series garage but is no stranger to victory lane.  Wauters began his career as a crew chief and has amassed 16 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series wins with Kyle Busch, Aric Almirola and Shane Hmiel.  He’s also amassed 24 NASCAR Southeastern Elite Division wins, one NASCAR Southeastern Elite Division Championship in 2006, and won the Snowball Derby win in 2004.  Wauters has worked with a long list of NASCAR stars including Davey Allison, Alan Kulwicki, Bill Elliott, Dick Trickle, Mark Martin, Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Aric Almirola, Paul Menard, David Ragan, Elliott Sadler, Scott Hansen, Kenny Wallace and Steven Wallace.

“We are extremely excited about Dalton (Sargeant) making his first Camping World Truck Series start,” Team owner, Richie Wauters said. “We’ve had the privilege to work with Dalton over the last year in the super late model car and seen his natural talent.  We tested a few weeks ago and he picked up driving the truck like he had done it before.  Dalton is a very talented young man, we look forward to be bringing him to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in the GALT Tundra and watching how his NASCAR future evolves.”

The UNOH 200 Presented by ZLOOP NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race is slated for Wednesday, August 19th.  Fox Sports 1, MRN Radio and Sirius XM NASCAR Channel 90 will have live coverage beginning at 8:00pm. Additionally, Fox Sports 1 will have live televised coverage of NCWTS practice Wednesday, August 19th at 11:00am and Fox Sports 2 will have live coverage of Keystone Light qualifying at 4:45pm.
