Dalton Sargeant Gets First Ever Stock Car Win at Virginia International Raceway, and Finishes Fourth at Hickory Motor Speedway all in the Same Day

Winston-Salem, N.C. (August 18, 2014) – Dalton Sargeant and the No. 45 Bassett Racing team achieved something that the young 16-year old road racing standout hadn’t accomplished yet, win in a stock car event. Sargeant set the fastest time in practice, qualified on the pole, and led every lap of the Southeast Limited Late Model Series event from Virginia International Raceway on Saturday, August 16. With trophy in tow, Sargeant then made his way to Hickory Motor Speedway to compete in the Hickory Motor Speedway 64th Anniversary 100-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Event where he qualified in the 16th position, but raced through the field to finish in the fourth position.

Winston-Salem, N.C. (August 13, 2014) – Dalton Sargeant and the No. 45 Bassett Racing team will have a very busy raceday on August 16, and will try and accomplish something not many have ever attempted. Not only will Sargeant compete in two different events in two different states in one day, but he will do so utilizing two very different driving techniques. Sargeant and the No. 45 will compete in the Southeast Limited Late Model event as a support race to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and the Biscuitville 125 at the 2.25-mile road course of Virginia International Raceway. After the event has concluded he will then make the 154-mile drive to Hickory Motor Speedway and compete in the 64th birthday celebration of the historic 0.363-mile track.

Dalton Sargeant Finishes Triple-Header Weekend with Two Top-10 Finishes, Gains Momentum

Winston-Salem, N.C. (June 30, 2014) – Dalton Sargeant, and the No. 45 Bassett Racing team had their most successful weekend to date in the 2014 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (NWAAS) season at Motor Mile Speedway on Friday and Hickory Motor Speedway on Saturday. In the first of two New River Bank 75-lap feature events at Motor Mile Speedway, Sargeant finished in the sixth position and fifth position in the second 75-lap feature, a great result for the rookie as this was Sargeant’s first ever career start a the famed .416 mile Speedway. The team moved to Hickory Motor Speedway for Saturday’s Hendrick of Honda 100-lap event, where Sargeant was battling for a top-3 position on lap 51 when contact was made and he was spun out by the car behind him. The incident would relegate Sargeant to a 19th-place finish at Hickory Motor Speedway.
